Why would someone want to call the Peninsula Crime Line?
There may be many reasons. First, people just don't want to get
involved in the often drawn out court procedures. On the other hand,
they don't want the criminal to go undetected either. Other callers
may just think their information might be helpful in
general.
Who calls the Peninsula Crime Line?
Concerned citizens, concerned friends, ex-lovers, those associated with drug use and criminal associates.
How are the reward amounts determined?
We use a scale which gives points for: the type of crime solved; the
number of arrests made; the value of
recovered property or seized narcotics. All or any of the above will
equate to a reward value.
How do I get paid if I'm an anonymous caller?
You are issued a confidential code number when your information is
relayed to appropriate police jurisdiction. You maintain contact by
checking on the status of your information.
Are the phones traced?
Absolutely not! The Peninsula Crime Line is a separate phone line system from local police departments. They have never been recorded or traced and
never will. That would destroy the trust in the Peninsula Crime Line.
Are the phones recorded?
No! We only have a voice-mail answering service where you can leave a
message concerning your report for those after hours calls. Our
intention is to make reporting to the Peninsula Crime Line Tips as easy as
possible. We have no desire to know who you are.
